How it works

Better Brain Health Starts Here

Regardless of age, the brain has the ability to change and adapt. Neurofeedback uses this natural process, called neuroplasticity, to help improve brain functioning in a safe, non-invasive way.

What is neurofeedback?

During a session, sensors placed on the scalp measure the brain’s activity in real time. This information is translated into auditory and visual feedback through a simple video game. The brain is able to “see” when it is producing too much or too little of certain brainwave patterns. Through neuroplasticity, the brain begins to adjust and regulate itself. Over time, this can lead to improved symptom control and greater brain resilience.

Think of neurofeedback as exercise for the brain: by strengthening areas that are not functioning efficiently, the brain learns to operate more effectively overall.

Brain activity is measured

Small sensors are placed on the scalp to monitor your brainwave activity. The sensors only read information, they do not send anything into the brain.

Real-Time Feedback

Your brain activity is displayed through visual and auditory feedback. As your brain responds, the system provides immediate feedback that helps encourage more efficient patterns.

Your Brain Learns & Adapts

Over time, your brain naturally learns to maintain healthier patterns associated with improved focus, emotional regulation, resilience, sleep, and long-term overall wellbeing.

Your Journey

What to Expect

From your first call to lasting results, here is exactly what your experience at Northwest Neurofeedback looks like.

1

Free 15-Minute Phone Consultation

We start with a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation to learn more about your concerns, goals, and whether neurofeedback may be a good fit for you. This is your chance to ask questions and get a feel for our approach before committing to anything.

No obligation. This call is completely free. We want to make sure neurofeedback is the right fit for you before moving forward.

2

Comprehensive Intake

Your first appointment includes a comprehensive intake to review your health history, lifestyle, and goals. Based on this information, we develop a personalized training plan tailored specifically to you.

Because we do not take a one-size-fits-all approach, your plan focuses on the specific brainwave frequencies and sensor placements your brain needs — not a generic protocol.

3

Ongoing Neurofeedback Sessions

Through regular sessions, your brain receives real-time feedback designed to develop healthier brainwave patterns, regulation, and resilience over time.

Sessions are 45 minutes (no more than 30 minutes of training) and are typically scheduled twice a week for optimal results. Most people find the process relaxing and enjoyable.

Progress is tracked continuously. We monitor your results throughout and adjust your plan as needed to ensure you are seeing the changes you came for.

4

Follow-Up

Once intervention is complete, you will follow up with a provider to ensure the changes are maintained. This is also an opportunity to discuss any additional goals you would like to achieve with neurofeedback, or whether a refresher may help bolster the changes initially made.

Our Philosophy

We believe that each individual’s needs are unique and training should be customized to address those needs. By focusing on the specific brainwave frequencies and sensor placements needed for the individual, we see maximum outcomes and long-term gains.

One of the most exciting aspects of neurofeedback is that once the brain learns these new patterns, the changes are essentially permanent. At Northwest Neurofeedback, we pride ourselves in understanding the complexity of the individual.

Personalized Plan

We do not have a “one size fits all” approach because that is not how brains work. Every plan is built around you.

Drug-free & non-invasive

Neurofeedback is gentle and comfortable. Although it may sound intimidating at first, most people find it enjoyable.

Lasting Results

Once the brain learns new patterns through neuroplasticity, those changes are essentially permanent, not just temporary symptom relief.
